Sarah burst through the front door with her two month old child in arms while holding a bloody towel over her left eye
She was frightened, scared and confused, she came out screaming while the child cried
Surely, behind her was her husband James with bloody knuckles, he had been beating on her again
Scared, bleeding, holding desperately on to her baby, she was in pain
He ran behind her and caught her by the hair
Clenched his fist to do more damage, not even for his baby he cared
I rushed over to her aid but was unable to stop the second blow
as it landed, her child slipped from her grasp, luckily she landed in the snow
I head butted James, he held on to my head as though he wanted to break my neck
I didn't care, i was pissed at this woman beater, i tussled as i wept
Sirens came rushing in like refugees across the border
The red and blue light flashes, chaos has brought to order
They placed me first in cuffs and put me down to lie on my face in the snow
While they simply questioned James as though they were about to let him go
Then i saw when the officers placed him under arrest and shoved him in the police car
While an ambulance took away Sarah and her child under a blurry star
Set him free the men shouted from the sidewalks
Set him free so we can do to him what he did to Sarah Parks
Set him free officers, because his wife will pardon him and he will be beating her again for sure
Set that woman beater free so we can give him the cure
James pointed a middle finger to the men who wanted to beat the shit out of him
Then the police car made a U-Turn and stopped at the men feat who wanted his skin
James looked frightened as though he thought the police were going to allow jungle justice
Then the officers left the car and told James they'll be back before any one notice
James became a little puppy in the back of the cop car as the police left
Silence filled the air as the angry mob of men silently took out baseball bats chains and James wept
When the police finally came back from recovering a piece of evidence, James lesson was well learnt
He knew now how being being battered felt, now he knew hurt
The police looked around but so nobody to arrest
The street was clear, Sarah's beating was put to rest
Sarah came out and her baby was ok
But the inner scars which James left in her heart, maybe there to stay
Set the women beaters out so we can teach them to be nice
Set them free i say, So we can give to them what they give to others, the other side of life.
